After more than 7 years, we’ve created a name for ourselves in capes. However, you’d be remiss if you thought rain was the extent of our repertoire. Sure, that was a tough nut to crack. Rain requires a high level of performance to account for the persistence of a good downpour. But, since the introduction of the inimitable Sweatshirt Cape (‘no ordinary hoodie‘) way back when, we’ve been working on capes for all seasons.
A cape is easy to wear. But it’s not that simple to create one that offers a good sense of style and performance. A sharp street cape can offer a certain élan — a good energy, a little swagger. It’s a distinctive alternative to the usual outerwear choices. Or even inner wear. We’re capitalizing on humanity’s practical poncho design and adding some sophisticated new elements. Any feedback is always appreciated.
Brand new from our Design Lab. This is a street cape made of soft Italian wool with a textured waffle-knit. Hooded with sharp-looking magnetic closure. Recommended for indoors and out.
The weather outside may be frigid and frightful, but inside this you’ll feel delightful. Faux fur in 2 shades for the friendly bear appeal. Reversible with weather-ready corduroy. Designed in Providence and made in Fall River, Massachusetts.
There’s a forest touch in this modern, reversible cape. On one side is warm faux shearling with a roomy kangaroo pouch. On the other side is soft green loden with split-back seam exposing the pile detail. Complemented by a roomy hood. This cape is also new from our Design Lab. Designed and made on the West Side of Providence.
This is the distinctive Beach Cape from the Ocean State – made with comfortable woven linen, a strong, natural fiber. It’s a versatile one-piece poncho with a roomy hood and sturdy drawstrings. It wears as a perfect beach cover (or private changing station). Designed in Providence and cut-and-sewn in nearby Fall River.
For every Cleverhood there is a season, and a cape to every purpose, under heaven. A time for a good walk, a time to laugh and a time to something different on your travels. We’ve got you covered here in the Creative Capital.
