The idea is to enable people to be clever and active in their ‘hood, walking, dog walking and biking instead of retreating to a car, or worse yet, not going outside at all. Our initial concept was to make a great looking, high performance rain poncho. Something that would cover you and your stuff and would transition from foot to bicycle, seamlessly. We’ve expanded beyond our original rain cape but the same attention to detail is put into all of our products. With all our products we consider how they can make getting outside a better experience, a smarter experience.
Sure it’s niche and yes we have an agenda: get out there, regardless of the weather. It’ll be fine. We love those all-weather folks that have a sunny attitude, that get up and go, rain or shine. It’s a positive approach that has a nice effect on neighborly interaction, the community and the environment.
Attention to Details
We strive to make the best gear, work as local as possible, provide quality service and be as sustainable as we can. We work hard to source the best quality materials. A lot of components are US made (Massachusettes, New York, California, Georgia, Illinois) but we also have great partnerships in Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan.
We strive to get the best materials. We enjoy working with like-minded businesses that can tell us how and where there products are made – preferably as local as possible. Often, our designs are informed by great products and craftsmen that we find – making use of what we have right in our backyard, always improving our garments.
We’re always happy to share info and sources with startups or apparel companies interested in reshoring to work more locally – please contact us at email@example.com
I received your cape a few weeks ago and, since we have been having a lot of rain recently in Saskatchewan (Canada), I have had ample opportunity to use your cape on my bicycle on my way to university. The cape works fantastically well! I do not have to worry about wet pants, legs, and shoes anymore, and my backpack fits under the hood and stays dry. This cape is awesome and my bicycle friends want one, too, now!Ulrich T.
