Houndstooth, also known as dogstooth (and other variations), is a duotone textile pattern characterized by broken checks or abstract four-pointed shapes, often in black and white.
Up close it looks like this:
Houndstooth checks originated in woven wool cloth of the Scottish Lowlands, but are now used in many other materials. It may be technologically advanced. For example, it may be made of a supple waterproof membrane with interwoven reflective thread.
The Electric Houndstooth is made for people who have things to do and places to see, rain or shine. That means it has to be sturdy and reliable, not just good-looking. Seams are tightly sealed, zippers close smoothly. Adjustable Velcro tabs reduce the drag coefficient. Rain gear built with cycling in mind.
We’ve endeavored to make Cleverhood the best in form + function. As Bicycling magazine said, “there are a slew of functional features.” Vice magazine, however, stated,“I came across these Cleverhoods and freaked out over how cool they look.”
Performance is important. We know people in modern, livable cities sometimes commute on bikes. There are hidden elastic thumb loops that keep the ‘hood secure and ensure riders stay dry.
But what about dark, rainy nights you ask? This street cape offers an illuminated grid when flashed by light. That’s the Electric part of our Houndstooth.
Oh, and in case you’re interested, we’ve got some fun ways for you to win a brand new Electric Houndstooth. It’s the Cleverhood Worldwide April Showers Game and there are several being given away from Atlanta to Zurich.
